Ever since the idea of online auctions came into existence, the online selling market has been on the rise. Many are interested, but don’t know how to get started. There are still all kinds of ways to make money by selling online, whether you’re selling what you already have or buying and selling like a store. Before we get started, here are a few general tips when selling anything online:

Decide on your top reason(s) for needing a business plan. A business plan can have multiple purposes, and as you address each of these purposes, your business plan can get longer, more detailed, and more complicated. At the outset, in order to write a basic business plan, you should determine your primary purpose for writing a plan. There are a number of factors to consider, such as determining the feasibility of starting a business in a particular industry; figuring out your operating plan; figuring out how to communicate the idea of your business with potential customers; or obtaining funding for your enterprise. This reason will help you focus your efforts on a basic business plan that will answer some of your most burning questions about your business.
The internet is the great equalizer. In business specifically, it has leveled the playing field. Anyone can start a money-making online business—anyone with a computer, that is. Also, interact with comments and build a community around the videos you’re making so people will share it with their friends.

What can you contribute to them that would be interesting? Research your niche and then look for ways to pitch articles. Many sites will simply have a submission or contact link in the footer. Choose the format you’d like to use. The more basic and brief the business plan, the less bulky text you will need to write. Instead of lengthy, detailed paragraphs, you might use bullet points instead. Some formats are as short as 1 to 4 pages, while very detailed plans can run over 50 pages. The shorter, more basic plans get to the heart of your business immediately. These also tend to put things into simple terms, making it easy for the layperson to understand. My goal is to start a low cost business in my area by specializing in personalization of products however there are many online businesses and local ones that corner the market. I am able to make posters by drawing designs and basic images however this business charges a lot for creating them will cause me to lose money when the competitor’s fees are $40.00 for a small poster and $100.00 for a billboard. Start researching your potential rivals or partners within the market by using this guide. It breaks down the objectives you need to complete with your research and the methods you can use to do just that. For example, you can conduct interviews by telephone or face to face. You can also offer surveys or questionnaires that ask questions like “What factors do you consider when purchasing this product or service?” and “What areas would you suggest for improvement?”

Expertise is another matter, but remember that writing can take many forms—from resumes to news articles to marketing materials and even thank-you notes. (You can even write for businesstown.com, although that gig doesn’t pay … yet.) There’s probably some form of writing you’re qualified to do. Plus, if you’re good enough with grammar and punctuation, companies will pay you to be a freelance editor. One friend made good money editing posts on a popular travel site.
If you’re willing to take on some risk and have the heart of a true hustler, you can make extra money online doing commission-only sales for startups and other businesses. While you won’t be getting a regular salary, with the right sales strategies and skills as an inside sales rep, you can make decent money for each sale you bring in. And because you’ll most likely be working with startups, if you can negotiate a little equity you could profit big time if you're pitching a solid product and the startup succeeds.
You'll also need ecommerce software, fulfillment software, worry about warehousing, customer service and refunds. But that's not all. You'll also need traffic. Think search engine optimization, Facebook ads, and other social media campaigns. It is hard work, especially on your own. You could opt for Amazon's platform, which might be the easier route. But, then again, at the end of the day, this is a serious business, which could produce significant profits. So you're either all in or you're not.
